Winter in Winnipeg

Ah yes... what is Winnipeg without winter? It's been a few weeks now since the blizzard hit us, and now that it's here, we have our hearts set on Manitoba International Christmas Camp (MIC)! When the snow comes a part of me (Mark) cringes. I was born in the fruit belt of California!!! Yet winter has a beauty all its own, and is also a gift from God. For one, Manitoba International Christmas is better with snow to ski in and a hard lake to walk on. Secondly, winter is a time when God's creation can rest under a blanket of white. Thirdly, the long nights and -20 to -35 C temperatures make our springs and summers all the more special. We don't take them for granted!

This photo is a shot from our balcony during/after the blizzard, through our screen door. So to Mummy and all who dream of snow and white Christmases, here's a photo and entry for you, with love from "Winterpeg"!
